Fw: hygiene

Mă plimbam prin Yard cu găleata mea cu bureţi şi pungi de gunoi când mă salută o faţă foarte cunoscută. Tipul avea în jur de 30 de ani. "How are you Rareş?" După schimbul de răspunsuri standard (ocupat, dar mă descurc bla bla), îmi spune: "I've been thinking about what you asked me about the bath and it seems that we should be able to do something about that. It's just that it's a little complicated to find a time..."
Şi atunci mi-a picat fisa: Tipul era decanul yardului. Emailul meu ajunsese la el. Şi-l luase în serios. Îmi permit să reproduc mailul ca să mă fac înţeles.

Dear Sir,

As a student of Harvard University, I find, approaching the end of my first month here, a pressing need to take a bath. It is my judgement that the University must have the resources neccessary to accomodate such a need, and I kindly ask that you refer me to them. It shall, perhaps, seem daunting to go through as much as 5 months deprived of this elementary need (here I am thinking about the time I will spend here after new year).

It has come to my attention that some freshman dorms have such facilities, and thus, for reasons of equity and equal opportunity, those not privileged enough should be offered some access to such invaluable resources.

Pe jumătate flatat şi ruşinat, i-am spus să nu-şi facă griji, că mă descurc, că doar să vii la facultate înseamnă să faci şi sacrificii...
Dar am rămas în continuare şocat. Adică dacă la un asemenea mail, scris mai mult la mişto, ei s-au gândit ce pot face, înseamnă că chiar le pasă de tine.
